District 17 - ALL of Wilson County & part Hermitage, Donelson, & Antioch
I'm Brittany Orpurt-Hilton and I'm running to be YOUR voice at the Tennessee Democratic Party!

The path out of a Republican supermajority in Tennessee runs through places like Wilson County. We need people at the Tennessee Democratic Party who know what's needed to rebuild and reinvigorate a county party and recruit and support candidates in red districts!
I've been working to:
Build a strong county party
Find candidates to run in every race up and down the ballot
Support candidates running in red districts
Collaborate with Democrats in other counties to bring new ideas home

"What does the Tennessee Democratic Party Executive Committee do?"
This is by far my most asked question!
There are 33 executive districts across the state, mirroring the State Senate districts. District 17 (Map HERE) includes all of Wilson County and parts of Davidson County (including but not limited to parts of Hermitage, Donelson, Antioch, and around the airport).
Each district has a committeeman and committeewoman on the Tennessee Democratic Party (TNDP) Executive Committee. A committeeperson is elected to represent the Democrats in that district for a four (4) year term.
The TNDP Executive Committee is responsible for the direction of the TNDP - electing the state party officers, how resources (and money!!) are spent, and what issues they focus on.
Other Powers and Responsibilities of the TNDP Executive Committee:
Decide if/when to have State Party conventions
Establish the procedure for selecting delegates to the Democratic National Convention
Establish and assume responsibility for the operation of the Tennessee Democratic Party HQ
Maintain close relationships with the County Democratic Executive Committees
Establish dates and times for the county party and county executive committee reorganizations (held in odd-numbered years)
Ensure that Party nominees for elected offices are bona fide Democrats
As Executive Committeewoman I would be your voice at the Tennessee Democratic Party!
Can I count on your vote?
What would you like to see from the TNDP?
At one time or another, we've all felt disconnected from the Democratic Party, at the national, state, and local level!
I want to hear about what I can do to better represent your views at the Tennessee Democratic Party.
